BYRD STATION TRAVERSE

Intersected peak positions determined from the solar position of M198 and M258. (M258 adjusted to Marie Byrd Land Electronic Traverse of 1966-67-68).

Elevations determined by altimeter traverse based on Byrd Station elevation of 1530 meters.

Wild T-2 used for angular measurements.


Located approximately 14.5 km SW of the summit of Toney Mountain on Downs Cone, intersected station.

Station mark - highest point of Downs Cone

Surveyed on 12 January 1968.

Horizontal Datum - Position based on the Astronomic Position of Toney Astro determined during the 1967-68 Season.

Vertical Datum - Mean sea level.
