GPS survey to establish mapping control stations and to occupy selected existing USGS momumented control stations. Data has not been differentially post-process to obtain precise coordinates.

Located approximately 22 km N of Siple island on unnamed island

Survey mark - None. Airborne GPS obtained from a hoveing helicopter and should be used for a rough location fix only.

Surveyed on 20 February 1992. Same island sighted by the USGS engineers William Harris and Ralph Vomaske February 1984 from the USCG icebreaher "POLAR SEA II". Rough coordinates, S73 06.5 W126 29, were obtained from shipboard navigation system.

Horizontal Datum - WGS-84- extimated accuracy +/- 0.16 km
