GPS survey to establish mapping control stations and to occupy selected existing USGS momumented control stations. Data has not been differentially post-process to obtain precise coordinates.

Located off the coast of Marie Byrd Land in the W extremity of Russell Bay at the E side of Siple Island a small ice-covered island.

Survey mark - None. Airborne GPS obtained from a hoveing helicopter and should be used for a rough location fix only.

Surveyed on 21 February 1992.

Horizontal Datum - WGS-84- extimated accuracy +/- 0.16 km

Vertical Datum - None
