ORVILLE COAST
1977-78 Season
Engineers: David Reed, Eberhand G. Schirmacher, Robin Schumtzler, and Harry Zohn, Jr.
Intersected peak positions determined by terrestrial surveys employing Wild T-2 theodolite for angular measurements and Electro-tapes for distance measurements from positions developed by geoceiver (Doppler) observations.
Elevations based on sea level using the NASA Goddard Earth Model (GEM) 10B.

Located in Ellsworth Land in the N central Peterson Hills E of Spear Glacier approximately 32 km NE of Mt. Dewe and approximately 20 km E of Mt. Leek, intersected station.
Survey mark - Highest Point.
Surveyed on 22 December 1977.
Horizontal Datum - The positions are based on WGS 66 datum. The adjusted network was fitted to the geoceiver stations by a least squares transformation and the residuals were less than two meters.
Vertical Datum - Geodetic heights corrected to the geoid using NASA GEM 10B. No direct connections to sea level were made.
